Welcome to another episode of what would Charlotte do, and today I am answering a question that is probably more of a worry for a lot of business owners. And that is how to avoid high operational costs in your business.
So, for many of us, our business. We can look at being money. Suck a time suck, because it takes a lot of the money and time that we are committing to the business. And for many that scaling stage is kind of halted because.
And for me, there’s one really central way that helps you do that
That’s scalable business systems. By having scalable business systems in place, it means that you are able to see what you can automate and what’s working so what to spend your time on what strategies are working, what your audience wants from you. What do you need to be doing more of where you can save some time where there are some gaps in your deliverability where you’re lacking with consistency.
The list is endless
These are all ways that are going to help you reduce your operational costs. Because ultimately what a lot of people end up doing is they hire a team member. Mainly it’s the virtual assistant start off with. They hire a virtual assistant, that ends up doing things that either is not going to drive your business forward so you’re not going to get the results. Or they’re spending time on things that should be automated.
And that’s a huge, huge downfall
For some, for, for many business owners, because if you are spending time of a team member on things that can be automated for a lot cheaper. Or things that you think need to be done because you can’t afford to hire the person with the skillset. That can do the other things that are going to drive your business forward.
Then you are going to become stuck in a situation where you have a team member that’s not bringing you results and therefore not generating you more money
And they’re concentrating on the things that need to be done. But they’re not automated. So by making sure that you have the scalable business systems in place, means that you are able to avoid high operational costs.
It also works with your team. So, with anything, the more specialist skillset you need. The higher the cost is going to be. And ultimately, if you as the business owner has created the strategy and pulled that together in a scalable business system.
The business system and processes are really up to scratch and going to work for you
You should be able to hire someone that’s more mixed with their skillset because they can follow the process. And then what happens if you can then further down the line hire an online business manager, that’s more integrated into the strategy side of things, which then, therefore, frees up your headspace to drive your business forward.
But it means that you’re not going to have to hire someone with that specialist skillset from the get-go, because that’s where a lot of business owners, fall down. They hire this person with a specialist skillset because that’s what they need at that moment in time. But they can’t afford it. And that holds people back from hiring the team member that’s going to help them take their business forward.
