Yes, you have read the title right. A Marketer can outsource their marketing and earn more money – Sounds crazy right? You are probably thinking how can that be true but very simply put ‘time is money’!
Should a marketer outsource their marketing?
Why not? Just because it is your industry why should it mean you have to spend much of your valuable time carrying out your marketing tasks? Many professionals can relate to the fact that you are in a career you enjoy and pretty darn good at but when it comes to the tasks that you carry out every day all day for clients the last thing you want to spend your evenings doing are the same tasks for your business. Am I right? Of course, I am, because I feel the same so understand your struggles.
But how can I outsource my marketing?
Almost all of my clients have said to me initially they feel silly asking for help with their marketing when it is their profession. My reply is always DON’T! It does not matter what tasks you outsource if the task is taking up time, outsource it. I don’t outsource my cleaning because I cannot clean, I outsource it because I do not have the time to keep it up – unless I want to spend my evenings and weekends cleaning, which of course I do not! You are still creating the content etc, you are just outsourcing the scheduling and communications side
You can create the content as you would usually and send me a monthly plan in which I will carry out the tasks for you. Let me give you some examples:
- You create your blog content and source your image – I will upload, format, proofread and schedule.
- You create a brief of social media content – I will schedule posts with relevant images and at relevant times
- You provide me with newsletter content – I will upload, proofread, format and schedule
- You provide me with relevant term to research content for social media – I will provide you with the up to date news for the term along with title worthy status
- You advise of the content you want to be shared on your social media platforms – I will schedule posts relevant to your target audience and industry
So, I think you get the point
By outsourcing your marketing it is not something to be embarrassed about. You are simply outsourcing the time-consuming tasks so your business can grow
Great, so how do I make more profit by outsourcing? Surely it will cost me money?
Yes, of course, it will cost you money, however, you will have more time to concentrate on growing your business which means more clients. Even by paying your virtual assistant you will still be financially better off as your virtual assistant is likely to cost a fraction of your rate, so say you charge £100 per hour a typical cost of a VA is £25 per hour meaning you will still earn £75 per hour.
But, I am just earning what I need to earn currently so don’t want to pay out money where it’s non-essential
I hear you. But as I said above, time is money, so yes, currently you may only be earning what you need to earn however with the extra time you will get back you will have the capacity to take on more clients so in the long run financially you will be much better off.
