The term Virtual Assistant (VA) is very broad and varied, after all, each VA has a different skill set so it’s understandable the term Virtual Assistant becomes blurred to many people.
You probably find yourself asking but what is a Virtual Assistant? What is in it for me? Here I run through exactly what a VA is and the benefits to you.
So, what is a virtual assistant?
A Virtual Assistant is a highly skilled and experienced freelance executive personal assistant. VA’s are suited to be your right hand wo(man) when you need a pair of extra hands without the expense of an employee. The majority of virtual assistants have come from an administration/personal assistant background and are able to provide executive personal assistant duties to you without the hassle of hiring a member of staff – you use them as and when required/agreed. VA’s are known by many different terms such as virtual business support, virtual personal assistant, virtual admin assistant, virtual executive assistants and the list goes on. The reason VA’s tend to use so many terms is to try and portray their services rather than broadly but the terms all fall under the virtual assistant umbrella.
Now, whats in it for me?
Like every business, your first thought is but whats in it for me? What am I going to gain by hiring a virtual assistant? And the answer is quite simply you achieve your business goals and can have the life you pictured when setting up your business. You want to be around to do the school runs but shortly after running your business you realised that’s not happening? You want to have more clients on board but spend too much time in the dark admin side of your business on tasks that need doing but are not profitable? You want to brush up on your industry skills and knowledge to stay one step ahead of your competitors but find that is a pipe dream? These are just some examples of reasons why a virtual assistant can help every business owner out there. VA’s give you something very valuable back, TIME, let’s face it the reason you are not where you want to be now is that you just simply do not have the time.
